IIf you’ve ever wanted to know more about the culture at Uplogix, I can tell you that during the hot Texas summers, we are exceptionally skilled at doing two things: complaining about the heat and avoiding the heat by staying inside to work on a new software release. It’s true. Many of us have lived in Austin for decades, and the heat has never been this bad before. Likewise, we have worked at Uplogix for a decade or more, and this new software release has never been more "available now." Okay. Sorry about that. The heat is getting to me. Let’s focus on the exciting news…
LMS 6.3 is now available!
Our engineers have been hard at work to bring you a software update full of feature improvements and security fixes, and the new version of code is now available to download from the Uplogix Support Site or Software Download page.
Here are some highlights from the release:
2FA DELAY – We now support configurable query timeouts when using RADIUS for third-party AAA. Some customers were trying to use RADIUS and Two-Factor Authentication and running into a situation where the Local Manager or Control Center timed out too quickly waiting for a response. This improvement allows users to change the timeout to better suit their environment.
LOG4J GONE2DAY – With all the vulnerabilities found in Log4j this past year, we decided it was best to simply remove the components we weren’t actively using, even if they didn’t have known security issues. The parts of Log4j that do remain have been patched to the latest release.
STRUTS1 ALL DONE – The EOL Apache software component Struts 1 has been removed from the product and replaced by the latest release of Struts 2. Struts is one of those things that is deeply embedded in the product, so swapping it out was no easy feat!
AZURE SUPPORT – More and more customers are choosing to deploy their Control Center in Microsoft Azure, so we are continuing to tweak and adjust settings to make sure the software runs as smoothly as possible. 6.3 adds some memory usage optimizations for general performance and independent routing tables so Pulse works a little easier.

Should I Upgrade?
Of course! Beyond the improvements and security fixes and feature tweaks, we’re also updating the Linux operating system and applying software patches. Even if there isn’t a new feature you need in 6.3, upgrading will at least get you current on security, which is never a bad thing.
How Do I Upgrade?
It’s easy! Just reach out to the Uplogix Support team at 888.663.6869 or email@example.com and let us know that you’d like to upgrade. We’ll set up a time to upgrade your Control Center for you and take care of everything else.
What Should I Do About the Heat?
Stay inside with the air conditioning. Stay hydrated. Watch Stranger Things. Lower temps are coming soon. Probably around Christmas. As always, if you have any questions about Uplogix, our products, or my theories about Vecna and the Mind Flayer, let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org!
